What if Awakening Had a Map?

Complex trauma doesn't mean we're broken. It means no one ever taught us how to build a relationship with ourselves.

I’ve spent the last four years going through a major psychic awakening and learning how to heal a lifetime of complex trauma rooted in abandonment and shame. There have been numerous times when it felt like the healing process was just as complex as the trauma itself. I’ve wanted to quit more often than I care to admit, but there was something else too, I’ve had the inner knowing to keep going.

Along the way I began recognizing patterns, frequencies and synchronicities. Through it all, I began to understand my energy centers and patterns, and knew that if I learned the root cause of my wounds, then I could find the medicine I needed to heal it.

This led me to adapting a strategy that I call the Inner Heart Healing Road Map. This map is not about finding X, but about learning the directions, road signs and the many intersections, dead ends and winding roads that when in attunement, lead to an interconnected flow.

Having complex trauma doesn't mean we're broken. It means we were never taught the emotional skills needed to build a healthy relationship with ourselves. We weren't taught how to process grief, regulate our emotions, or recognize our own worth. Those are skills that can be learned. Healing became the practice of discovering the medicine that already existed within me and learning how to use it.

For many of us, we are in the process of unraveling a lifetime of trauma that began in childhood, and then was compounded in adulthood through years of continued abandonment, traumatic events, and compounded abuse. Whether intermittent, or consistent, healing our complex trauma means we are unraveling multiple layers while we simultaneously rebuild.

It’s a Puzzle

Imagine your body’s energy centers as a giant 3D puzzle with deep multiple layers and each layer is made of numerous dynamic sections. We are removing pieces that no longer fit and  discovering the ones that always did.

Sometimes we think a piece fits, only to find out that once we fill in the spaces around it and gain some perspective of the bigger picture, that it actually doesn’t. And if that isn’t challenging enough, we have no box cover as a visual aid to help guide us there.

This is what it feels like to release old identities rooted in trauma while re-connecting with our personal truth and authenticity. And for those of us that never learned our personal truth throughout our childhood or young adulthood, we must accept that we are discovering and remembering who we are in the present time, which is going to feel raw and uncomfortable at times.

The Road Map

Through my psychic awakening and my practice of awareness, I began noticing patterns—within myself, within others, and within the energetic world around me. Over time I began turning these patterns into strategy. This strategy falls into three main energetic centers of practice.

They are:

Foundation

Fundamentals

Freedom

I’ve organized these centers through my experience with psychic healing, energy work and spiritual education. You may notice that this framework differs from traditional energy center teachings and it's true. Most energy practitioners teach that our foundation is associated with the root, which is our connection to safety, survival, and embodiment.

These teachings are not wrong, they just didn’t make sense to me when healing my own trauma and abandonment. I have done hundreds of readings and healings over the last three years and my experience has shown me that when we have complex trauma, we have never learned our true foundation of Self. Instead, we have been conditioned to abandon ourselves since early childhood.

Through my own healing journey, I discovered that when healing complex trauma and abandonment, the greatest challenge wasn't learning how to ground and stay rooted—it was about rebuilding my relationship with myself.

That's why, within the Inner Heart Healing Road Map, I identify the heart and throat centers as the Foundation Center. These are the energetic spaces connected to self-worth, authenticity, truth, and personal dignity.

My road map isn't meant to replace traditional energy center teachings. It's simply the framework that emerged through my own healing experience and the patterns I've observed along the way. Think of it as seeing them from a different angle or lens.

The Practice

When we learn how to work these three energy centers together, it creates the path to achieving emotional liberation and inner freedom. It is important to note that this is not about reaching a target. There is no X marking the spot on this map- It is about embracing the present. There is no one true summit to reach. It is a series of peaks and valleys as we break patterns, expand awareness and build as we go one step at a time.

Before I developed my own healing practice, I was stuck within the karmic cycles of abandonment and shame, which led to alcohol addiction and not only disconnected me from my own life, but most importantly I was disconnected from myself. Prior to me learning how to practice and build my own skills, I was in a constant state of survival, grief and pain. Once I became aware of the patterns, learned how to metabolize my grief and rebuild my foundation, I was able to see the path to freedom.

The only way to heal our complex trauma is from the inside out. It is a solo journey of self discovery through remembrance, which is a practice that fosters progress and growth over time.

The first step takes courage, the next steps need tenacity and then, having some good old fashioned gumption to keep going.

The Result

When we make the conscious decision to begin healing our trauma through our foundation of self, develop the practice of awareness and metabolizing our grief, we expand our conscious awareness, rebuild our self worth, and become grounded in our bodies. This practice is how we become emotionally regulated and presently aware.

An awareness practice also helps us to cultivate the self-worth, self-respect and self-love needed to detach from co-dependent behaviors, break limiting patterns within ourselves and release old karmic cycles. Eventually, we will reach a place where we must face a deeper truth about the human experience itself.

The Universal Law of Duality

This law, or code I like to call it, is inescapable. Human beings are part of the Universe, so that means we are dual too. Yin and Yang. We are made up of two opposing but complimentary forces that work together to create balance. We cannot fully see, experience and feel the light and joy within ourselves unless we are also willing to witness, experience and feel the dark within us too. We all have experiences where we have been violated, abandoned, and deeply hurt, and have all made countless mistakes, felt shame, and wished we could go back in time and re-do the moments we can’t ever re-do.

This is our divine wholeness.

We don’t heal by becoming someone else. We heal by remembering who we’ve always been.

With Love & Gratitude,
