Aura and chakra cleansing has been practiced by energy workers for centuries. There are various ways to clear foreign energy from the body, depending on the practitioner. In this article, I’m sharing my personal experience with chakra and energy work. Keep in mind, if you approach this differently or have had other experiences, that’s perfectly fine. There’s no one “right” way to perform this work — many modalities have been used and taught throughout history. I don’t claim to know everything; I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned through my own practice.

The Reality of Energy Transfer

Every human is born with the birthright of sovereignty over their own physical and energetic space. However, because we interact with others daily, our energy can become clouded. Unnoticed, foreign energy can settle in your space, causing chaos in your life if not regularly addressed.

Since I began working with energy, I’ve noticed recurring patterns. Most people are unaware of the foreign energy they carry. It might stem from unresolved past experiences or trauma they’re still unconsciously holding onto. Symptoms can include repeating old patterns, behaviors, and beliefs tied to that trauma, causing them to relive pain and suffering without being able to let go.

In some cases, this energy might come from someone else. When we interact with others, residual energy can cling to us without our knowledge. This often manifests as feelings of lethargy or discomfort, and we struggle to identify the cause. Without regularly cleansing this foreign energy, it can unknowingly affect us, leading to racing thoughts, digestive issues, or unexplained aches and pains.

How It Impacts Daily Life

This foreign energy affects how we handle the stresses of daily life. From rushing out the door in the morning, navigating stressful commutes, to interacting with others’ negative energies throughout the day — it all takes a toll. By the time we get home and engage in the evening routines of life, we often find ourselves reacting impulsively, without taking the time to breathe and respond thoughtfully. When you think about all the people and places you encounter in a day, you can see how easily other energies can seep in without you realizing.

Understanding Our Energy Field

Our bodies are made of energy, and the space surrounding us — sometimes referred to as our aura or energy field — also holds that energy. If we don’t have a regular practice to cleanse our energy, considering a chakra cleanse can be a powerful way to understand where and how your energy is stored, and how it impacts you.

Our chakras generate the energy we feel throughout the day, and each one corresponds to different areas of the body. When they’re weighed down by foreign energy, we may feel sluggish, irritable, or unwell. Holding onto past attachments — whether memories, emotions, or traumas — can affect your body and mind depending on where that energy is stored. We often do this unconsciously as we navigate our human existence.

Many of us carry things we’ve held onto for decades, which can keep us from growing and evolving. If you’re on a healing journey and haven’t explored chakra cleansing, I highly recommend seeking it out to support your overall well-being.

A Universal Practice

It doesn’t matter what faith, religion, or belief system you follow — energy cleansing is a natural aspect of our bodies and our energetic space. Just as we keep our physical spaces clean and tidy, maintaining our personal energetic space is, to me, the most important practice for overall health.
